Whelp, the foreman must have doubled the coffee rations because... the slate for the floor has been laid more than two weeks sooner than predicted by the slate layer (aka Slayer)! The treads for the stairwell are also being laid, these in black-stained wood. Next up is the sealing of the floor, which will darker the slate up a bit and hopefully give us that Darth Vader look we're going for.
