Here are the items that we have "chosen" at this point. Doesn't mean we still can't change our minds given a better option, but barring a better option, these are the defaults. As an indication of how wedded we are to these, we rank them from 0 (please suggest something better before we make a mistake!) to 10 (you will have to remove this item from our cold, dead hands). Stuff in red has yet to be decided on...  In fact, this whole tab is a work in progress! We also don't expect anyone to look at this except each of us (to remember [1] what we chose and [2] what we still need to choose) and the interior designer.

Doorbell: Spore (True illuminated; wedded = 10) Review: Awesome! Doesn't work with all chimes, though.

Doorbell chime: Heath-Zenith (Classic Decor wired; wedded = 10) [note: the Heath-Zentith wouldn't work with the doorbell, so we wound up getting the Modern Doorbells doorbell chime and placing the Heath-Zentih cover on top!] Review: Doesn't work with the Spore doorbell; however, we used the cover (shown below) on top of one that worked.

Light: PH5 (wedded = 10) Review: Classic awesomeness, well made, works like a charm.

Mailbox: Teak and Stainless (wedded = 10) Review: Works great; required screw tightening from time to time; not quite big enough for all mail, but good for some 95% of it.

Fridge: Whirlpool (white ice; wedded = 9) Review: Piece. Of. Shit. Broke down a week after the one-year warranty ended; reviews show that Whirlpool was knowingly selling defective merchandise in the hopes it would last out the warranty; and so much for energy efficiency: it now draws nearly twice the current it did when new. Avoid like the plague.

Dishwasher: Bosch (500 Series, 24", white; wedded to Bosch = 9.9) Review: Has worked awesomely; amazingly quiet.




Faucet: Kohler Karbon ("Robot. Arm.", chrome, wedded = 10 [already have it!]) WaterSense doesn't appear to rate kitchen faucets...

Year 7: The control handle broke under normal use requiring a new handle and control cartridge (~$150; poor engineering). The vertical pipe started to allow the robot arm assembly to work its way out ($88 for replacement vertical pipe; poor engineering). Easy to find parts for.
