I love-love-love paintings by this dude in San Diego named Richard Salcido. He specializes in painting head shots of angsty young ladies, typically distressing the final products into a glorious collision of talent and wabi-sabi. We haven't brought ourselves to the check-writing level required to buy one of his "real" paintings, but he's been selling some of his studies, and we've picked up two: the one above and the one immediately below. Deeper below I've posted some of my faves of his fully realized work.
