cabinets getting closer

We needed to get centers on sinks so we could spot the lights for the electricians to finish their stuff. Despite the holidays the Cabinet Lady sent these over. Not finished and polished yet (note height differences in the uppers in the kitchen...), but getting pretty close. There are some subtle differences between what we have here and what the architects drew up...

Here's what the architects drew up for the fridge wall in the kitchen:

and here's what the Cab Lady drew up:

She suggested drawers under the oven instead of a doored cabinet. We also put a pull-out recycling bin next to the fridge and asked that the upper cabinets over the counter be the same vertical dimension as the shelves. Seeing how the window looks a bit different between these two tells me I need to see plans printed at scale to check the dimensions of stuff...

Cab lady:

Again, very similar. The cab on the far right is different because it's a (bum bum-bum BAAA!!!) Super Susan (sometimes referred to in select circles as the "Overachieving Susan").  Super Susie takes advantage of the blind corner back in there.

"That Susan sure is super!"

The horizontal lines of what the architects drew up are more visually pleasing, but the substantial increase in storage will be appreciated (function over form, sigh...). The tall drawer to the right of the sink will house a pull-out trash can.

Architects for range wall:

Cab Lady:

Another (bum bum-bum BAAA!!!) Super Susan to the right and a pull-out spice rack the left of the range. We also converted the open shelve to the right of the hood to a closed-in cabinet (peer pressure...).

Architects for the master bath:

Cab Lady:
Pretty darn close, which is great because we really loved what the architects drew up here.

As far as pulls go, we're going with "invisible" (more accurate to say "nearly invisible" or "tab pull").

It looks something like this, but more invisible.

It's been fun working with the Cab Lady: She's knowledgable, resourceful, and understands Modern aesthetics (her own kitchen is Modernish). Can't wait to see these babies installed!
