 woo hoo! The cabin passed inspection and is ready for move in!

We've been buying furniture and stuff for the cabin and will be moving it all in around Thanksgiving. Can't wait to stay and enjoy the place! Also have some custom stuff getting built locally for the cabin as well, which will arrive by the end of the month (but not all of it).

Yay! We have railings! And fire! 

The glass railing for the balcony has been a cheesegrater with wrong sizes and shatters, but now it is finally up. Since we really needed this for the final inspection and certificate of occupancy (inspectors are apparently not supportive of design features where homeowners can fall to their deaths...), this is a huge relief. 

The transparency of these rails is spectacular! And they capture reflections in a really, really neat way. Just fantastic. The way that space engages with the forest is awesome. Hoping they also act as good kittyguards (keeping the kitties from being tempted to jump up and out). Plans to move stuff in around Thanksgiving and enjoy the space are in motion. Amazingly, Cloudcroft has already had several inches of snow up yonder! That fireplace will sure come in handy.
